Mike Foley has gone from the trenches of reporting to top positions at the St. Petersburg/Tampa Bay Times. He’s also served as a juror for the Pulitzer Prize and now works as a master lecturer at the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communication.

Foley will offer some of his insights into the state of the industry, Fake News and journalism’s future with his signature wit and style as the Florida Press Club’s featured speaker at this year’s gala affair.

We plan to gather at 7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Hotel Indigo, 1223 Boulevard of the Arts in Sarasota. We have reserved a block of rooms for overnight guests.

The cost of dinner is $50 for members and $55 for nonmembers. Please let us know if you plan to attend and indicate your menu choice.

2. Herb-encrusted tilapia with rice pilaf and seasoned broccoli.

A vegetarian option — a lemon orzo dish — is also available.
